Demand-driven technology for economical supply and disposal
Demand-driven technology for economical supply and disposal
Commuters take the train to work. Families travel by train or bus on vacation. And people use their own boats for recreation at the weekend. In all of these situations, operators of bus and railway depots as well as harbors are faced with the challenge of disposing of the resulting waste water properly, yet economically and simply. Refilling drinking water is often also relevant.
The Vogelsang range of drinking water and waste water management systems in the rail, bus and boat sectors is extremely extensive:
- Rail systems: In addition to VacUnits, TUnits and WaterUnits, ReelUnits and CabinetUnits are also available for use in single or multiple-station systems. The range was supplemented with mobile solutions.
- Bus systems: Vogelsang developed the RoadPump for disposing of wastewater from intercity buses and optional WaterUnit.
- Boat systems: The PierPump disposes of gray and bilge water from yachts and boats hygienically, quickly and simply.
Supply and disposal with Vogelsang – Systematic solutions
Systems for rail operation
Perfectly coordinated technology not only makes operation easier, it also reduces potential downtimes. As a result, we at Vogelsang do not focus on individual products, we always consider our customers’ requirements.
In the rail sector in particular, many individual components must interact to guarantee economical operation. As a result, Vogelsang offers a range of individual products for single and multiple-station systems, which can then be combined based on the respective circumstances.
The heart of our rail systems – the VacUnit
As inventors of the rotary lobe, Vogelsang reached the first milestone in delivery technology for viscous media as early as the 1970s. This technology makes the rotary lobe pumps used in disposal systems for rail companies self-priming up to a head of nine meters, which is space-saving and cost-efficient, as it eliminates the need for vacuum tanks and vacuum pumps. The design as a redundant VacUnit guarantees trouble-free operation and increases the power factor when required: it demonstrably delivers sufficient suction force for up to 80 connected TUnits.
Waste water disposal systems and WaterUnit
The Vogelsang supply columns for drinking water filling are as compact in design as they are flexible. As with the TUnits, the hoses have an outstanding reach, at 10 meters, and automatically retract into their holders after use. In order to protect against sub-zero temperatures, the hoses also feature an automatic drainage function. Optional extras like fully automatic programming of the fill quantity, a signal system or an additional hose for cleaning the waste tank permit needs-based customization of the system.
Depending on the weather conditions, environment or functional requirements, Vogelsang also offers suction and filling systems in compact and protected cabinets. The flexible hoses are automatically flushed afterwards for cleaning, and the automatic retraction system makes them must as easy to handle as the free-standing TUnits with the same range. Additional optional functions, e.g. heating, wet area or additional storage space for equipment and cleaning agents make the Vogelsang supply cabinets in their autonomous single station versions ideal service stations for railway depots with little traffic.
Mobile supply and disposal solutions by Vogelsang
It often makes sense to use mobile versions instead of stationary waste water disposal systems. Then, the railway carriage does not have to go to the service station, the mobile vacuum station comes to it. For maximum flexibility, Vogelsang offers self-propelled vehicles or trailers for this application. In addition to the proven Vogelsang VX rotary lobe pump for filling or draining the carriage tanks, both also contain a sturdy waste water tank with a capacity of up to 3000 liters depending on the version. There are versions with integrated cutters for BioUnits as well as versions with additional flushing water tanks. If all that is important is to be able to move the pump unit from place to place, a hand cart is ideal for direct vacuum extraction and pumping of waste water into the sewage system.
Of course, all mobile supply and disposal systems by Vogelsang are mounted on base vehicles by renowned manufacturers, to ensure that they retain their mobile flexibility throughout their long lifetimes. Complete CabinetUnits with pump and hose systems are also available in mobile designs – if necessary including wet areas or heating for smooth operation at sub-zero temperatures.
Vogelsang disposal systems for intercity bus transportation
Vogelsang fresh water supply and waste water disposal systems have been commonplace in rail transport for decades. They still impress with its performance and great tolerance to solid matter and foreign matter.
So it is no surprise that the secret to successful operation, our rotary lobe pumps, are now earning their keep in bus stations and service stations. As the central element of the RoadPump, the rotary lobe pump once again proves its suction capabilities, also saving space with its compact design.
Bus drivers and station staff are just as grateful for the simple and reliable operation and maintenance. The mobile or permanently installed collection stations for large bus depots or smaller service stations make vacuum extraction of toilet waste water a hygienic, splash-free process. Additional equipment options such as a suction lance to avoid unpleasant odors or a freshwater hose with a quick coupler round off the RoadPump range.
Supply and disposal solutions for yacht and boat harbors
Legally mandated in some countries, they are a matter of environmental awareness in others: waste water tanks on private boats. As a result, more and more harbor operators are supplementing their services with quick, easy-to-use vacuum disposal systems to accommodate their customers.
The PierPump, equipped with the proven self-priming Vogelsang rotary lobe pump, is particularly suitable for handling by non-professionals. Available either as a mobile system or for stationary installation, the units are simply started at the push of a button after the hose has been connected to the boat’s waste water tank. Use of the PierPump also eases the work of harbor operators, as the Vogelsang rotary lobe pump developed specifically for pumping viscous, highly contaminated media, is extremely durable and can even pump larger foreign matter such as t-shirts or plastic parts without damage. Accordingly, repair work is rarely required. And if wear parts ever need replacing, the pump is easy to open, and no specialist skills are required to do so.
The compact PierPump is available in various versions for different locations and requirements. It can also be equipped with an optional heating system to prevent frost, with a particularly durable stainless steel or fiberglass housing, and various payment system options.
