Vogelsang to present train service systems at InnoTrans 2018

Essen/Oldb., August 6, 2018 – Vogelsang GmbH & Co. KG will present compact systems for disposing of wastewater and supplying drinking water as well as interior cleaning of trains at InnoTrans from 18 to 21 September in Berlin (hall 7.2C, booth 207).


The focus is on the TUnit, a station for the vacuum wastewater disposal and drinking water supply of trains, and on the CleanUnit, a robust cabinet system that provides the media supply for the complete interior cleaning of trains, buses and trams on site.

“The systems have a compact design, with variable equipment and installation options. In this way they can meet the different requirements of railway workshops, train tank stations and rail depots of any size”, said Harald Vogelsang, Managing Director of Vogelsang GmbH & Co. KG.

TUnit for small and large railway service systems

With the TUnit, the wastewater disposal and drinking water supply of trains is carried out in an environmentally friendly, hygienic way. Installed directly on the train service platform or in depots, it is easily accessible to the staff. The TUnit SP variant is a compact, single-station system equipped with a VX series rotary lobe pump. It is particularly suitable for smaller service stations and workshops. The high-performance TUnit MP is designed for medium-sized and large railway depots. It is connected to the VacUnit, a vacuum pump station from Vogelsang, and is installed as a satellite service system.

Weatherproof cleaning station CleanUnit

For the complete interior cleaning of trains, buses and other transport vehicles, Vogelsang also offers the CleanUnit. The robust media cabinet is available in various designs and includes the equipment for cleaning the vehicle interiors. In addition to detergents and devices, the CleanUnit provides warm and cold water as well as an environmentally friendly disposal option for grey water. Optionally, the station can be equipped with sockets for external devices, such as vacuums or high-pressure cleaners. For smooth operation, including at sub-zero temperatures, the cabinet is usually equipped with a heating system.

Large working radius and user-friendly systems

The TUnit and the CleanUnit are easy to service and convenient to use. On the TUnit, suction and water hoses are suspended from a vertical carrier system. That enables for a large working radius of 7.5 meters in all directions. As a result, easy filling and disposal is possible even if there are no connections in the immediate vicinity. By using an automatic retraction mechanism, the hoses can also be used particularly ergonomically, in a way that conserves materials. The CleanUnit contains all utensils needed for cleaning vehicle interiors, easily accessible in a single location. This reduces working distances and enables comfortable cleaning in the shortest time.
