Ploughing Championships reveals the latest agricultural innovations

Vogelsang ExaCut precision distributor gained attention among the technology demonstrations

| News, Agricultural technology

The National Ploughing Championships attracted 240,700 visitors to see the latest machinery, livestock equipment, ploughing competitions and technology demonstrations including the Vogelsang ExaCut workshop, which covered aspects of design, operation and preventative maintenance. Vogelsang Ireland exhibited its agricultural and biogas innovations, serving to support the sustainable farming goals and schemes.

Despite the weather challenges, the National Ploughing Championships still attracted 240,700 visitors over the three days. From farmers to students, these agricultural enthusiasts came to see the latest machinery, livestock equipment, ploughing competitions, and even local food producers and retailers. The final day brought appearances from Andrew Doyle, minister of state at the Department of Agriculture, and IFA president Joe Healy.

For farmers and contractors, the event provided a valuable opportunity to experience innovations that improve farming methods and allow operations to run smoothly. Throughout the day demonstrations on machinery and cutting-edge agricultural technology including Vogelsang’s ExaCut distributor were held to promote interest in finding ways to farm sustainably and implement effective practices. With the GLAS scheme supporting environmentally friendly agricultural production methods and the TAMS scheme promoting low emission slurry spreading systems, farmers and contractors were in the market to carefully select a technology that best suits their farm’s needs and the green vision for Irish agriculture.

Vogelsang Ireland exhibited its agricultural and biogas innovations, which serve to support these sustainable farming goals. Vogelsang technology sets new benchmarks for low-emission spreading, enabling farmers to use the nutrients contained in the slurry more efficiently and hence optimising their operating costs. The Vogelsang ExaCut precision distributor is the essential part of spreading systems, which accurately distributes slurry to the hose connectors. At the stand, Vogelsang’s Technical Engineer, Paul Feeney, was onsite offering workshops on the ExaCut covering aspects of design, operation and preventative maintenance. Farmers and contractors were keen on educating themselves at this hands-on demonstration.

The Vogelsang ExaCut ECL precision distributor is equipped with a vertical rotor with self-sharpening cutting blades, which both cuts and distributes precisely in a single process. Its compact design allows it to be used a central or decentralised distributor in the spreading systems’ booms allowing working widths of up to 36 metres and systems with up to 120 outlets. This is a great feature for contractors because they have more flexibility in working with a variety of farm sizes and specifications. The ExaCut also has an integrated heavy material separator to allow the user to easily remove stones or foreign objects. Using this kind of precision distributor makes the spreading process reliable and safe – something that all farmers want to rely on.

As a way to continually educate on Vogelsang products, Vogelsang Ireland offers informative presentations to local agricultural colleges, provides on-site product training to dealers and will be holding dedicated workshops at upcoming agricultural events.
