Measures to enhance protection of the climate and promote the sustainable use of resources

Throughout our entire value chain our operational activities generate direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions, also known as CO₂e. To continuously reduce our direct emissions, we are implementing several concrete measures: We systematically analyze our energy data, are gradually electrifying our vehicle fleet, use LED lighting, have installed a heat pump, and will soon commission a thermal storage system. At our main site in Essen, we have installed over 1 MWp of photovoltaic systems on the roofs. When it comes to indirect emissions, we leverage significant opportunities through climate-friendly procurement and innovative product development.

Resource Use and Circular Economy
With a broad product portfolio and an international presence, the responsible use of resources is central to our business model. We consider our entire value chain, from raw materials and components to packaging and transportation solutions. Our circular economy strategy includes developing circular product designs, ensuring products are repairable and recyclable, and extending product lifecycles through service, maintenance, and spare parts sales. In this way, we reduce the demand for primary raw materials and create added value beyond the original lifecycle.
