R series – The rugged liquid manure pump for simple applications
With the R series, Vogelsang offers rugged yet powerful pump technology for simple liquid manure technology applications. These rotary lobe pumps have a double bearing, a generously dimensioned shaft diameter and a basic selection of sizes, rotary lobes and materials. The offset arrangement of the rotary lobes ensures that the pump runs with low pulsation. The rotary lobe pumps in the R series have proven themselves especially as classic pumps for liquid manure. The Vogelsang option for reliable use is not only highly resistant to dry running, the R series also allows priming even from deep pits. The reversible flow direction reduces the number of pipes on the tanker, as the rotary lobe pump can be used both on the tanker and as a mobile unit on a base. As a result, this liquid manure pump can be used flexibly throughout the entire farm. These basic properties make the R series rotary lobe pump an ideal liquid manure pump for agricultural applications.

Rotary lobe pumps are positive displacement pumps. The pumping work is performed by the counter-rotating movement of two elastomer-coated rotary lobes in the pump housing. The lobes are mounted on a shaft. The shafts are driven by an external gearbox, which also contains the bearings. On the suction side, the lobe motion increases the volume, creating suction that sucks the pumped fluid into the pump. Accordingly, the rotary lobe pumps convey the medium directly. They can change the flow direction and prime actively. Thanks to the lobe principle, these pumps are suitable for particularly gentle conveying.
A range of different drive variants are available for the R series. As the liquid manure pump has a wide range of applications, we offer the following options:
Drive power via cardan shaft
- Power transfer via cardan shaft
- Mounted on three-point base
Drive power via hydraulic motor
- Drive power via directly flanged-in hydraulic motor
- No base required
Drive power via geared motor
- Power transfer via coupling
- Mounted on a torsionally stiff motor base
Drive power via variable speed gearbox motor
- Power transfer via coupling
- Mounted on a torsionally stiff motor base
Drive power via electric motor
- Power transfer via belt drive
