Rotary lobe pump LoadMaster: Compact and powerful with 140 kg less weight
Case Study: Hessler Agrar-Energie GmbH & Co. KG

Problem

Heavy components reduce payload and compromise efficiency in slurry logistics

Solution

Reduce vehicle weight and optimize payload with lighter pump technology

The customer and the problem

Hessler Agrar Energie GmbH & Co. KG is a family-run business based in Essen, Lower Saxony, which cultivates around 500 hectares of arable land. The company transports around 40,000 m³ of slurry per year using a 15-meter SwingUp drag hose system from Vogelsang. Owner Simon Heßler uses two slurry trailers with a tank volume of 30 m³ each to transport the slurry.

“The pump installed in them weighed just under 345 kilograms. To save weight here, we looked around for a lighter alternative.”
Simon Heßler, farmer and farm owner

Components such as the built-in pump technology influence the efficiency of slurry spreading. To make slurry management even more economical overall, Heßler is already starting with the transport vehicle.

The solution

Instead of conventional pumps, Heßler has equipped the vehicles with the significantly smaller and lighter LoadMaster transport pumps. While conventional pumps weigh well over 300 kg, the aluminum LoadMaster pump weighs only 171 kg—a weight saving of over 40% in favor of higher trailer payload.

Heßler: “As a result, our tankers are almost 140 kg lighter after the conversion and are as powerful as ever.”

Advantages of the LoadMaster

  • Significant weight savings of over 50 percent with the same power output
  • Increased payload on the vehicle possible
  • Compact design and easy to retrofit
  • Pistons are lighter and can be installed individually
  • Easy to service and low maintenance
  • No oil changes required
  • Less shaft deflection, less wear
  • Long service life thanks to patented injection system
