PierPump: All-in-one solution for wastewater and bilge water disposal
Case study: Marina Stenhuis
Problem
A wastewater pump with frequent problems, such as jamming
Solution
PierPump SB160
The customer and the problem
Marina Stenhuis is a modern and well-maintained marina located directly on the Westeinderplassen in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands. The marina has 265 berths for boats ranging from 5 to 15 meters. Visitors can also make use of (heated) winter storage and a wide range of maintenance services.
The old wastewater pump suffered from frequent blockages. This meant extra work for the harbour masters and downtime for users who could not dispose of their wastewater or bilge water. The result was an inefficient process and dissatisfaction among visitors.

The problem
The old pump used for disposing of wastewater and bilge water was frequently blocked, causing harbor masters to spend a considerable amount of time fixing malfunctions, while users were unable to dispose of wastewater or bilge water at all. This was always an unpleasant experience for both the skippers and the harbor masters.
The solution
"Finally a pump that really works," users of Stenhuis Marina said after the new pump was installed.
The PierPump SB160 offers a reliable and user-friendly solution for discharging
both wastewater and bilge water. The SB160 consists of two pumps in a single compact housing. Thanks to the lobe pumps, which do not require check valves, harbourmasters save as much as three hours of work per week.
In addition, the pump empties a tank within a few minutes, reducing waiting times and significantly increasing ease of use for boat owners. As a result, the PierPump
is now used three times as often as the old pump at Stenhuis Marina.
