The customer and the problem
„At our 360 kW plant in Meschede, we use large amounts of compost as our renewable raw material input. The daily quota consists of 1/3 turkey dung, 1/3 cow dung and 1/3 corn silage.
In spite of the approx. 50 m3 suspension which is fed in from the post-treatment tank, the DS content in the digester is 15%. The digester content was no longer pumpable, the overflow (pneumatic AutoBlubb) was not functioning reliably and thick floating layers were forming. The entire plant was running to an unsatisfactory standard.


The solution
In view of this, we decided to install the RotaCut before the pump which supplies the digester with 50 m3 from the post-treatment tank. This rectified the problem. The floating layers were reduced and the AutoBlubb functioned more reliably. In addition to this, we were able to reduce the running time of the mixers (2 x 13 kW and 1 x 10 kW in the digester, 2 x 13 kW in the post-treatment tank). Where they previously ran for 25 minutes every 60 minutes, they now only run for 20 min. The medium is simply more homogenous and flowable, and the plant runs better.
Vogelsang note: at a combined power consumption of 46.5 kW (75%) for all mixers, it is possible to save 33,945 kWh per year.
